Our Treatments

Our Clinical Team

Pharmacinta only employs UK qualified Clinicians, including Pharmacist Prescribers, GPs and Advance Clinical Practitioners. Our Clinicians continue to work in the NHS and have extensive experience of working in community pharmacies and general practices.

Frequently Asked
Questions ?

We want to expand the service offer of community pharmacies to enable them to offer prescription only treatments without patients having to see their GP. This will enable community pharmacies to make use of their natural advantage over online pharmacies of being physically present in the community and able to provide medicine quickly and directly rather than wait on delivery by post.

We are currently providing treatments for adults aged 18 and above. We will soon be expanding the service to provide treatments for common acute conditions for children.

Men’s health, women’s health, travel health, general health, skin health, sexual health and chronic health…we are constantly reviewing this and continue to expand on the conditions to cover a wider set of treatments.

We offer patients the option to purchase complimentary treatments during the sales process. An example would be to offer a nasal spray and eye drops to a hay fever patient who is purchasing an antihistamine medication such as fexofenadine.

The majority of our treatments are prescription only, we offer some medications at higher strengths that are prescription only.

All of our pharmacist prescribers are based in the UK, they are qualified in the UK and are regulated by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

We do not currently offer a direct consultation service. We intend to offer an online doctor service in the near future. With the existing service, if a patient has made an order or is in the process of making an order, they can make a query to our clinical team in relation to the condition they are seeking treatment for. Our clinical team will respond by either telephone or through the website messaging system. Alternatively, if our clinical team feels the need to contact the patients to discuss their medical history or completed medical assessment further, they will contact them via telephone or the messaging system.

Repeat prescriptions are time limited - usually 6 months depending on the condition and treatment. Once the period has expired the patient is invited to complete a new medical consultation for us to be able to issue another prescription.

We cover both acute and chronic low risk conditions.

We strongly recommend that the pharmacy check that they have the particular medication requested in stock before advising the patient to choose this option. If this option is chosen then we will expedite the processing of the medical consultation and issue a prescription within 2 hours.

We only issue electronic private prescriptions only.

We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and our pharmacists are regulated by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Yes, we are covered as a company and each of our clinicians have their own additional indemnity cover.
